Life in the Event of a War is an interdisciplinary project created by Ukrainian artists who were forced to flee the war.
They all settled in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodeship, and they all wanted to speak out.
But is it possible to express/describe trauma? How do you talk about a war that is still going on? How to control emotions and rationalise an experience which cannot be rationalised?
The performance is an ‘operations manual’ for war and life in it. Step by step, word by word, memory by memory, image by image – destroyed cities, lost stories, broken relationships appear before us.
Together with the artists, we ‘learn’ to travel through the new reality, try to survive, fight, hide or acquire new skills. And all this interweaves with authentic stories collected on social media.
